This project involved building a new large community hall and Montessori school onto an unattractive 1960s brick building. We specified an engineered timber structure which resulted in a relatively short construction time. The building was ecologically innovative in that it used "breathing wall" construction and and thick layers of recycled newspaper as insulation. This was new technology in 1995, although quite widely used now.
